"Super Bowl 2011" @ FIX University Campus
"Super Bowl 2011" @ FIX University Campus
NFC Championship Game 2011 has one participant firmly locked into place: the Green Bay Packers will be the road team in next weekend's huge conference title game, after their impressive shellacking of the NFC's top seeded Atlanta Falcons.
Green Bay ran away with their second round game, winning 48-21 and moving to their first NFC Championship Game since the 2007 playoffs, when they lost to the New York Giants in Brett Favre's final Packers appearance.
This time it will be Aaron Rodgers under center for the Pack as they play for a chance to head to Dallas for the Super Bowl, and Rodgers is one of the main reasons Green Bay is so close to Super Bowl glory. He threw for 366 yards and three touchdowns while completing 31 of his 36 passes, a virtuoso performance for a quarterback who some fans doubted regarding his ability to win in the postseason.
Now he and the Packers' explosive offense wait and watch to see where they'll be heading: to the familiar Soldier Field home of their NFC North rival Chicago Bears, or far across the country to the Pacific Northwest and a date at the extremely loud Qwest Field against the upstart Seattle Seahawks.
Packers fans have to be looking forward to either matchup, as Green Bay is fresh off beating the Bears in Week 17 in order to get into the playoffs, and Seattle doesn't have a great defense despite their impressive win at home last week against the Saints.
Regardless of the second opponent, it should be fun to watch the Green Bay offense at work in next weekend's NFC Championship Game. Here's hoping the game ultimately lives up to its lofty stature.
